What Does Chinese New Year Mean to You?
Some brides are surprised when
we suggest ordering the wedding gown 8-12 months before the wedding.
For most of the year, gowns will arrive at September’s Bride several
months after we place the order with the manufacturer. This gives you
enough time to schedule your alterations, choose your accessories, and
relax…knowing that your gown is ready!
But, at this time of year when many
brides are ordering for spring and summer weddings, there is often
another reason that we urge you to go ahead and order your gown just as
soon as you have decided…
Here is an e-mail correspondence from one of our designers. Most of
our gown designers have similar timing issues surrounding the Chinese
New Year, and we do our best to be sure your gown order is not held up
by this holiday. Ordering your gown as soon as you are ready allows us
to use the information we know to have your gown arrive at the boutique
at the best time possible for your wedding date. Our factory will be closed for Chinese New Year February 1, 2013, through
March 1, 2013. They will be doing their best to ship all orders out as soon as possible before they close. This may result in early or delayed shipments to your store. We ask that you accept all early shipments as we will not be able to hold your orders.
Unfortunately, it is common practice in China for some employees to not return to the factory after this holiday. There is a possibility that production may be slow during the months of March, April, and May, while new employees are being trained. This being said, please do not hold orders prior to or after the holiday.
